Job Summary:  

ModMax is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA/QC Manager to lead the quality assurance and quality control functions at our modular home manufacturing facility. The QA/QC Manager will ensure all products meet company standards and industry regulations, overseeing inspections, documentation, process control, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a key leadership position responsible for developing and enforcing a culture of quality, accountability, and compliance across all departments.

Key Responsibilities: 

Quality Management & Compliance 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the factory’s QA/QC processes and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry standards (e.g., NTA, IRC/IBC, NFPA, ISO, etc.)
  • Ensure all homes meet internal specifications and external regulatory and client requirements
  • Oversee quality inspections throughout the production process—from incoming materials to final assembly and shipping
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of quality control inspectors and technicians
  • Conduct regular quality audits and report findings to leadership
  • Serve as the primary contact for all quality-related inquiries, documentation, and investigations

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, non-conformance records, photos, test results, and certifications using digital applications and paper methods
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product quality, rework, and customer satisfaction
  • Lead root cause analysis and quality failure investigations

Process Improvement

  • Work cross-functionally to identify and reduce defects, production errors, and inefficiencies
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the company
  • Recommend design and process changes based on QA/QC data and customer feedback

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a QA/QC role, preferably in manufacturing or construction
  • 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role
  • Knowledge of modular construction codes and regulations preferred
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone), FMEA, and CAPA
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to train and motivate production teams toward a quality-first mindset

Preferred:

  • Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ/CQA Certification), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or similar certification
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment:  

  • Full-time, on-site position (40 hours/week) located at the main manufacturing plant in Fayetteville, TN
  • Mix of office and factory floor environments
  • Requires standing and walking in a production environment; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
